About the Online Format of the Symposium:

The Art of the Networked Practice symposium is a blended international gathering that is both local and remote. Participants must register but is free of charge with open access to attendees from around the world. The symposium, as a “third space” event, re-imagines how we might strive for a greater openness, accessibility, and potential of cross-cultural exchange in our increasingly connected global culture. We ask: is the localized conference the most appropriate format for bringing together the diverse voices of a contemporary, international community for a global, peer-to-peer debate concerning online practices in the arts? Art of the Networked Practice is intended to reconsider this issue, piloting a format that challenges the physical, financial, practical, and thematic constraints of a traditional symposium.
