Learning Objective Within an art, design and architectural context and through studio-based teaching, the student will be introduced to the creative potential of pattern and ornamentation using digital image technologies and non-traditional fabrication methods. Content From fashion to product design, from interior design to architectural installation, animation, and interactive arts, the pattern will be explored together with its application in the artistic and commercial domain. The course will examine how the image combined with digital and traditional painted and drawn mediums affects the significance of the surface, structure and space. Supernatural City

What kind of imagery city evokes? Transform city found objects, and/or data, into representational or abstract forms,  designs, and patterns for a large-scale public art installation. Some suggestions on themes are City Daydream, City Data, City Everyday, Graffiti, City Conversational / Social Media (Twitter,  FB),  People, City Nature, City Rhythm and Sound, Ephemera. [embed]https://vimeo.com/104216145[/embed] A ferrofluid (from the Latin ferrum, meaning iron) is a liquid which becomes strongly polarised in the presence of a magnetic field. 2012 Experimental film "Ferroux”, 2nd Year student Afiq Omar, Class Pattern, Art, Design and Architecture, Project Supernatural, Invisible Nature, used home made Macrophotograph tp dpcument ferrofluid influenced as it gets influenced by a magnet. The piece was picked by Vimeo and showcased by CEMUSA, Digital Video Network, Times Square New York City, leading international outdoor advertising company, display on 70 inch LCDs at eight newsstands at Times Square, New York.
