On 18 August, we visited the Thieves’ Market to search for materials resembling animals.

I was considering making a scorpion, but didn’t manage to find anything that I could craft into one.

I did find a couple of other objects.

But nothing screamed to me except for this wire brush.

These hard bristles would be perfect for a scorpion! Even the colouration is right.

I bought five: three dark grey and two golden. The following week, I began to make my hedgehog in class.

I salvaged the innards of a flashlight, one rubber earbud and a velvet drawstring sack from Calista. I tried making a body out of a big battery, but it was the wrong texture and wouldn’t stand up anyway, so I inserted it into the sack.

I sliced the metal handles off the brushes with the rotary saw and glued the bristled parts together on the back of the battery sack. Then I glued a flashlight part to the opening of the sack to form a muzzle, with the earbud as the nose.
