Concept

Bubbles wafting into the air; this would bring to mind childhood and fond memories. The colours are meant for the sun to cast a joyful myriad of colours onto the floor of the space- bringing the viewers to enjoy the passing experience; allowing them to take their mind off difficult matters. This was inspired by prayers rising; and the peace it brings- that even though from a hard and troubled ground, (dark strokes on bottom left side of the first picture), something beautiful can rise out of it.

After the critique, Michael told me to play and explore more on the idea of the bubble; i could add more elements to it; he suggested something in the bubble; so I explored flowers in the bubble as they have many different kinds and varieties. I wanted to emphasise each bubble as an individual.

I also explored the pot, the cracked pot which represents trial; or hardship. I added more images to my mood board on Pinterest.

VisCom1//Project 1: Therapeutic Graphics [Process1/3]

Brief:
Creating a welcoming and soothing environment with graphics that can potentially promote healing.

Location:
At the Ng Teng Fong  Hospital
Site Visit and Observation

  1. Physical Features:

It was a rather long space with quite a high ceiling. Most of the main colours I saw were white and grey. There was ample light coming through the widows to provide sufficient light to light up the place.

2. How is the Space Being Used?

The space was being used for transfer from one building to another. apparently on one side were eateries and the other side were hospital operations. I asked a lady called Dionne- She said that this place was more like a passing location and no activities were held there; it was just used for transit. Most of the hospital staff were shuffling to and fro quickly. Some who seemed to be visiting just stood on the travellator and enjoyed the ride.
