Posting on Digital Media about Digital Media

Hello and welcome to my first post!

I am a student in the Applied Sociology program at UMBC and my interest is in the effects of social media on inequality and subjective well being. Having lived in a rural East Tennessee before living in New York, New York and now the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, I am interested in how social media correlates with subjective well being, taking into account socio-economic status.

Also, I have played golf with Alice Cooper. Looking forward to this project!

  1. Our group from Baltimore, Maryland, US seems very interested in birds. Our state bird is the Oriole (and that’s the name of our baseball team), but few are in this region anymore — likely due to many reasons including climate change that has moved their nesting sites to a different area. I’ve put out special feeders for the Oriole’s, but in 5 years, I have not seen even one.

    1. Ooh that’s quite an interesting story albeit slightly disheartening. Was googling how does the Baltimore Oriole looks like and it looks way different from the Singapore’s black-naped Oriole. They can be seen pretty easily here though if you look carefully.
