“cityscape” is a new and creative way to explore your city as well as support local artists. The process is easy, download the app and explore. Local artist will be encouraged to join the team and create any artwork of their choice. The app is designed to take users around their city, exploring new areas they may have never been to, in search of the artwork. A GPS map shows the users where each art piece is, it provides users with directions and locations. Once the user has reached their desired artwork they will scan a barcode attached to each piece. Once connected the user begins their journey, which led by the artist, a description of the artist’s work and what inspired them along the way with a playlist of music the artist used to create the art piece.
For the individual project I was thinking of experimenting with an interactive installation focusing on sound as an art piece. Testing echo’s and different pitches. $500 would be an acceptable budget for this installation, seeing as it would utilize an empty room with speakers and microphones.
For my long term pair pitch I want to focus on bringing art into big city’s, society is constantly in a rush and never takes time to appreciate its surroundings i’d like to have artists collaborate and create huge permanent sculptures that become monuments of the country/city they are placed in. While I desire that all art works are unique and individual, each piece maintaining a similar aesthetic would create a notably interesting experience.
For this project i’d like to focus on wearable technology. The it is often an issue with body temperature raises to hot then cold very fast and Bringing sweaters can be a nuisance. I want to create a jacket that reacts to the users heart beat. The speed and rhythm of the heart beat alters the temperature of the jacket. A internal heating and cooling system will be installed with sensors activated surrounding the main pressure points.
For this project I would like to create a large scale audio visual installation. Where I will interview a large group of women who have all taken victim in a tragedy such as rape, abuse, etc and have their voices echo in a room how explaining their feelings. I want to express the issue women face all over the world.
The life tunnel is an interactive performance installation. The art piece consists of 11 large pieces of hanging paper, each paper containing its own unique rip in the centre. A clear wire hangs them so they give the illusion of floating. Life Tunnel is a reflection of our lives, going through the tunnel the audience must adjust their bodies in order to fit through the rips in the paper. It represents the obstacles in life that we can not change and as challenging as it is to get by, we have no choice to but to adapt to our surroundings and keep moving forward.

For my future extension of this project I wish to enlarge the exhibit using a different medium with added lights and sounds.
There are many different roots one can go when deciding on an installation piece; the artist must come up with theme, location, and objection. He/she must determine the reaction and experience they want their audience to gain from the art piece. Installation art in principal is taking a large area and changing its perspective by filling it with art that constitute a whole other meaning to the original space.
The Weather Project and Rain Room are two experimental installation projects that follow a similar theme however have completely different features and objectives. Both pieces utilize the concept of weather they focus on specific aspects of the environment and the essence of exploring humanity within it.
The Weather Project installation created by Olafur Eliasson, focuses on creating a representation of the sun and sky. A thin mist slowly encases the space, through out the day the mist transforms into a cloud-like formation before is disperses across the installation. The light from the sun in contrast becomes produces a mono-frequency the lamps used emit a light in a very narrow frequency that only the colours yellow and black can be seen, this effect transforms the installation into a spectacular experience encompassing the sun.
The Rain Room created by artist Hannes Koch is experimental installation that depicts the essence rain with the use of water falling. The installation enables the audience to control their own root through the downpour without being soaked by water in the process. The installation follows movement and presence the general idea is that one can navigate them selves through a downpour without getting wet therefore feeling as if the user were one with the environment.
Both installation projects maintain a similar concept by focusing on the essence of the environment, aspects that have a relevant part in their art projects are to do with management, budget, scheduling and overall project objectives. The two projects require a large interior space for their installation; The Weather Project has a still experience where the centerpiece maintains the same coordinates while the Rain Room utilizes the whole space and maintains a consistent life-cycle, regardless of when the audience enters the art piece the installation will be the same. The experience for The Weather Project will differ depending on when the audience enters the installation. Both projects maintain powerful user experiences however exhibit it differently. The projects must consider budget when creating their pieces both installations require a large amount of maintaining in order to keep the installation sustained and natural.
The task for this assignment was to create a work that altered ones senses. The first sense that came to my mind was sight, and paired it with perception. The piece was placed on the audiences head, it contains 100 paper filters that consist of different texture, opacity and length.
The idea was that in life we see life through fragmented screens, due to social media, and devices, we see life through a bunch of different screens that fragments our reality and blurs what is actually real vs. what is altered by the media and curated online.
The head piece showed our view of reality by enabling the user to see through different screens. As a society believe most of what is portrayed online or over the media the thicker paper slips represent how far from reality it truly is, rather then being able to see what is directly behind the thick paper the user must trust and believe it, if you cant see for yourself reality might not be there. Compared to the transparent pieces that enable the user to see right through at what is really behind it.

Narrative is within all art, it can be told or untold. It is the story or statement behind the artists work.
