Hello!

In our very first Foundation 4D class of this semester, we learnt that things are encoded in images for us, the viewers, to decode. So for our first project, we had to create images using the methods of addition, subtraction, substitution and superimposition, and hide our own little messages in them. (Title was inspired from Melanie Martinez’s song, Mrs. Potato Head.)

My overall theme was heavily influenced by the standard of beauty nowadays. The reason why I chose this topic was because whenever we scroll through social networking sites, we would come across a post or two about related to beauty, even the bizarre ones. Using the methods of adding, subtracting, substituting and superimposing on images, we are supposed to create 4 collages. My theme for this project is Exploitation – namely of the 3rd world countries through the 1st world countries’ point-of-view.

To start off, Exploitation is defined as the action or fact of treating someone / something unfairly in order to benefit from their work.

Hello, here are a few images from my first project in the 4D class, in which we experimented with the concepts of adding, subtracting, superimposing and substituting!

My main motive was to learn as much as I can, which I actually did, both, while preparing my own project,  as well as from my wonderful classmates!

Aaaand up and onto the bandwagon of adding -ization behind words.

For our first 4D Project, we were tasked to create images with the use of addition, subtraction, substitution, and superimposing. I was a little confused at first because of how these four methods seem to overlap, but here is what I managed to come up with!
