Final design:
The theme for this assignment 3 – Ego, was to explore various aspects of self. In this assignment, students were expected to experiment with various design synetics as well as colour theory. For this assignment, I wanted to work with collage,use different materials and hand illustration, combined with different media to give a minimalist and surrealism feel to my work this time round.

Using acrylic paint playing with color theory
In this exercise, I played around with photoshop and using the threshold effect, I added a color scheme to some popular internet memes as an experiment.

What is ego?
The “I” or self of any person; a person as thinking, feeling, and willing, and distinguishing itself from the selves of others and from objects of its thought.
In this project I plan to use different elements to describe the different aspects of myself (a + b), and using images to add to the depth and colour of each individual piece. Also, I plan to use different found pictures to add on, as to give the images more meaning. As for Me (c), I plan to describe happy themes, so I use bright colour theme.

one of my strength is patient, so I use clocks to represent patient.
This colour scheme has a sense of calm, determination and softness.

cut paper in diamond shape = because when i marraige i need a diamond ring, so I create diamond cut in the paper. At same time, I also like the cinderella glass shoe, so I want to create segment effect in my design

Conclusion and reflection
In this assignment, I would like to say that i enjoy doing this assignment and I was very apprehensive of this project. I feel I could do better. This project pushed and challenged me to come up with many ideas.
For this assignment, I would like to use mixed media and collage. I experimented here and there, I learnt about color theory and I continued to practice various design synectics that we were being thought in class. I think the greatest challenge for me would be trying to come up with designs as simple as possible, I want to combine different elements together in one design, while still maintaining a good sense of aesthetics. Another thing I need to improve on in this project would probably be to pay more observation and attention about color harmony and colour consistence. Considering the gestalt principles, I should be more aware that humans tend to look at things as a whole. I should balance the colour in the same equation.Thus, I should put more effort in maintain a color theme throughout a series (like each equation), there allowing the audience to associate more easily between panels as well as giving the work a smoother “flow”. This project really push my limits ad ideas, I learn more about myself.
