ZINE

My zine is based on the experiences that an art student can relate to. It’s a take on the cultural shock that I had upon coming to a school which specialised in a field I have never touched upon.

I mainly use the pictures as a form of narration and did away with as much texts as possible.

Some of the obstacles I’ve encountered is the layout and particularly the typeface I should use. Before going with the decision to not use most of the texts, I was struggling with the kind of typeface to use because a lot of the once that I’ve tried was clashing with the pictures.

The layout was fine, in my opinion, but I still think I could do more with trying to find more interesting ways to put the pictures. But seeing as how my photos had a lot of things going on, I figured a rather simple one could do.

I had a fun time trying to create this zine and I look forward to getting the opportunity to make one if I could.

REMIX: Feels

This video centres around the idea of the essential need to have a support group in a person’s life. My video, in particular, revolves around the involvement of a family. The visuals and audio may not be very linear to many but they represent the mental stages of the protagonist who is going through a rough time. Thus one would see the push and pull of emotions and thoughts between negative and positive, the latter when surrounding with people whom you care and who cares for you. Later, at the end of the video, we see the protagonist who was woken up with insecurities and negativity, walking backwards ( this twice ) to where his/her family would be. Due to this event, she was able to go sleep back with ease.

The audio used narrates the idea how a person, a teenager especially, has moments where his feelings would be very overwhelming. I chose this for the narration, but also the upbeat yet calming melodies that accompanied it.
