Foundation 4D: Project 3 (Stop Motion)

My Stop Motion Video

What is it about? Cyberbullying!

My stop motion video aims to bring out the cruelty and stealthiness of cyberbullying. The use of mask not only symbolises the mask of anonymity the internet provides for cyberbullies, but also brings the audience to the fact that many cyberbullying cases go about unnoticed.

It could be anyone, you can look at a young boy or girl, who may seem fine, in fact happy, but you never know that he or she may be experiencing this issue.

Black and white filter symbolises the depressing atmosphere, loneliness and the darkness the victim is going through, in addition, it also also symbolises texts (a weapon used to harm the victim) which are black and white as well.

Bringing the viewers through the series of events the victim undergoes, the video ends with a coloured picture and finally revealing the victim’s identity, which shows that by the time we know who the victim is, it would often be too late for anything to be done. The last picture is also sort of open for interpretation, and makes one question, “Is he dead?”

Reflection

However, I felt that I could have improved on selecting only a few transformations and focusing on them, making the video less choppy and more concise and to the point. Furthermore, the video could have been enhanced with better use of props. (e.g. Ketchup as blood instead of chilli sauce)
