PART 2:
ARTISTS WORKS and MY TAKES/VERSIONS ON THEIR WORKS
Wassily Kandinsky’s Works:
My Takes on His Works:
I used monoprinting method and a compass to create those geometrical lines. Results gave off a sense of space and play.
Piet Mondrian’s Works:
My Take on His Works:
Here I used monoprint again with tape this time round.
Also, below are works inspired by both Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian:
Using monoprinting method and tape.
Agnes Martin’s Works:
My Takes on Her Works:
Using monoprinting method, black ink and a BBQ wire mesh to create grids.
Close up images to have a clearer look at the different line results.
Sam Francis’ Works:
My Take on His work:
By dipping a string into a bowl of ink. I saw some similarity between Sam Francis and Agnes Martin’s works on the results below.
Franz Kline’s Works:
My Takes on His Works:
Thick and bold brush stokes made using black and white water colour paints. Creating bold/statement lines. The strokes of white paint enhanced the overall look as it gave a greater contrast against the black strokes.
Jackson Pollock’s Works:
My Takes on His Works:
Here, I mixed glue with white and black paint separately in a plastic bag. Then, I snipped off the edge of the plastic bag to allow the mixture to drip. Besides that, I used brush with white paint and brush markers to create a similar ‘action’ effect.
