The theme given to us was “Supernatural”, specifically with regard to 7th Month, although we were given the option to explore other areas in the theme as well.

I started off by mindmapping to explore what Supernatural could mean:

After that I decided to look in to a more direct representation of the supernatural by doing some quick sketches of supernatural entities as I wanted to go towards a more illustrative sort of direction. The focus was bit more on Asian supernatural entities.I went on to Pinterest to find some inspiration for some styles that might suit the theme I was going for.

I really like the use of bold outlines and colours as I felt it adds more life to the overall composition.

There’s still more work to be done! But this is definitely a first step 🙂
