Emiko’s kind [Y1 Foundation: 3D Project3]

In this assignment, we are going to make a skin for Emiko’s kind, a study object of a SEM or close-up image. Emiko (a Windup Girl) is an engineered human. The study object is primarily to be made of found organic or manufactured material (not longer than 3cm).

Research (Part 1)

The research was a bit tough for me.

Just thinking and looking at the SEM images remind me of my Trypophobia.

So I tried…

To research something without HOLES and DOTS that will not make me feel very bad: linear pattern or something like snowflakes (shapes pattern)

I was suggested to use a more close-up image for reference.

Peacock feather

This is my referencing image for my study model.

Process

I brought fake flowers and planned to use its petal as my material.

Then I cut out the fake petals and glued them on a cloth referencing the SEM peacock feather image.

Research (Part 2)

Create a cooling device for Emiko’s kind.

Keyword: Cooling device, including organic material, mixed media(more than 2)

I decided to make my product around the neck, which is more convincing as a cooling device.
