Going deeper into the more cinematographic aspects of the process; I realized just how unaware I was that making a fully CG video can still be very rooted in reality.
From the start I knew that I would have to learn elements of graphic design to create a strong image, but for some reason I didn’t think of it more akin Read more →
Project Soli: Controlling devices using hand gestures
It is a gesture sensing technology by Google ATAP (Advanced Technology And Project group) for human-computer interaction. It uses miniature radar technology with sensors that will keep track of gestures made by human hands and fingers. The sensors track these gestures at high speed with detailed accuracy. It allows a rich variety of interaction. For Read more →
So basically, I have combined what I have learnt over the course of this semester with this pixel patch. So you are able to view your pixelated face on the screen and as you move around the screen, 4 different sounds will play. And the trick is to get the photo taken. When you finally do, you will get the Read more →
jit.hue + random
This would apply the a layer of colour and when random are added it become ever changing effect.
I also play around with the rotation of output. Initially I wanted to achieve every 3 secs it will bang and rotation will appear however, I manage to make it with the ggate. Where I can control which side to bang. Read more →
I uses this to control the overly of the image and also the video. I wanted to blend the image and my face as much as possible. I also found out that some lighting appear on my face would also effect the outcome. When I use a piece of paper to block it, it become more natural.

I wanted to add a little more colours into the pixel to make it look more lively, and i chanced upon this object called jit.scalebias.
Jit.scalebias is a tool that helps you adjust the hues of the imported movie/camera grab, through changing the values of RGB/A attributes like rscale, rbias, gscale, gbias, bscale, bbias.

For this patch, alpha blending as it is is already quite a big thing to grasp. I played around with setting params whereby if we move around, the images on my face would change according to the x and y values.
Using jit.alphablend to paste and blend Kim’s face onto mine, still comes out flat as Kim’s hair is black and does not regiester as longer.
