So I shot a few things but I still was not sure really sure of how I want to piece the scenes together for my short film. To be honest I just thought of shooting random people and even people whom just dress out of the normality which somehow really expresses the fact them not being afraid to be themselves.

Despite the fact that people could be looking at them with a weird look. But than again the more I think about the more I thought that perhaps that was a ted too in your face? We can literally anyone and we are still being ourselves. So I thought some more, maybe I could take shots of people going on with their lives and enjoying themselves.

I had the thought of starting off with perhaps a down shot scene of a person’s feet walking. Also, the shots of them smiling and having fun. It was originally just a try out since I was not sure of still what I wanted to show in my film and I need to consult to be sure that this is a green light.

Apparently after the consultation, my idea seem to be like an inspirational video which is not supposed to be like that. I should make my video more simple and not as direct. I need to be able to let my audience think of what I am trying to show instead of having to throw everything out there and be too direct.

So in the end I tried to put more of the walking video together to express individuality. The fact that the different shoes we wear and how we walk shows the personality of the person. Instead of trying to have too many different scenes and ideas all in one video.

I should also try not to take inspirations off of advertisement since they are work done by professional. Also, it is something that we can’t really achieve without the use of professional equipment. Unless maybe we have prior experience or something.

This is just the screenshot of the few that I have. I have about 15+ videos of them that I will put together but I am honestly still quite unsure of the music. I guess I will try to post up the video of the edited version.

Look a little deeper, see a little further. The way we walk, the way we talk, the type of shoes that we have all got. It is the little things that we do that make us who we are. The main character of our  own life story.

Ps. I do not want to do animation for my film because I want to try something new. Also the fact that I can do animation for the rest of the time here in uni and also the fact that I am still bumped out after my poly end of the year project.

I was like kind of drifting around here and the there about the images since I was not sure which images actually meant freedom. After consulting again, I realised that the images I thought that were too normal were actually the ones that tells most of the story. Like how a normal photograph of a family can also mean freedom. I just had to read along the line of the title. The fact that most of the happy news have images that can be use for my theme.

The fact that the images are in all different sizes means that I could play around a lot with the layout and stuff. However this also means that I should try to get as much photos as I could and try to bring them together with the layout that guide people through.

I thought of mixing around the different sizes of the newspaper I have cut out when I present them. I feel like sometimes happy times are really random so perhaps I could play around with the placements mixing up the big and small cut outs.

While searching for the photos, I thought that advertising images could be used as well but somehow when I put them together with the other images, it feels like they are very fake? I am not really sure how to explain it but they stand out way too much with all the proper posing and clean backgrounds. There were also images with gradient highlights which I find hilarious.

The horror of having to go through the huge pile of newspapers.

So we had to find images related to our assignment one, I am guessing this is to help us get have a clearer view of what we want to do? I went around digging for the many photos, I realised that I cannot really just stick to searching only using the word freedom. Then I started to think about what are the different things people do that can be portrayed as freedom or when seen people will have the sense of freedom.

After consultation, the apparently the images that I found is just based on aesthetics, also the fact that they are too literal. They are still just used for what they originally were trying to portray. Somehow the images just does not seems to feel real and raw. I guess in a sense I needed to find images and put them into a new context which I just somehow did not really have a clear idea of what that really meant so this happened.
