Process: Cones

Tried fusing black plastic and I like the colour so decided to work with that material instead. The images below detailed the process in making the conical skirting.

 

Fusing raffia strings with iron
making patterns for the cones
Experiment using an iron to join the edges together
Experiment using a heat gun to join the edges together
the heat gun warped the cones

Using heat gun to fuse raffia strings produced a nicer effect as compared to using the iron
stitching gets tricky after awhile due to the size of the cones
Used staples for the parts that couldn’t be sewn
Stuffed with newspaper to show the fullness of the cones
