The class assignment was to go around school with an hour time frame to take photos of what we feel was representative of the taglines given. It is free and open to interpretation. Below are my interpretations with short poems(that do not rhyme yes) as descriptions.
- Something that is not “NTU” at all (you would not expect it to be in NTU)
Metal cage.
Dark.
Like it’s used to trap an animal.
A vicious,
untamed animal.
Restrictive, lack of personal space.
To bind, lack of creative space,
or any kind for the matter.
Like a cubicle prison,
with benches to sit on and
await your end.
- Somebody not studying in NTU
Food.
Sustenance.
To bond, to chat, to catch up.
Studying can wait.
- Somebody studying in NTU
NBS shirt.
NBS student.
Top tier smartass.
Enough said.
- Useless image you see
Eye-catching, yet
People don’t care.
People don’t “see”
And honestly, if they do
It doesn’t motivate them anyway
- Useful image you see
Follow
the instruction.
It helps.
Makes life easier,
if
you know how to read.
- Nature
Cracks
Fine lines, hard lines,
Spotty, flaky
Yet so solid,
and strong.
Stand tall soldier.
- Urban nature
Line the flowers up.
Sprinkle the greens on.
Turn the rigid into organic.
Try
Infuse, blend, cover up
Doesn’t matter if nature grow up in skies.
- Urban
People, pollution, priorities
Self – convenience, comfort
Over others
First world problems
Epitome – Cars
- Singapore
They say we’re one of the best in the world
And yet,
Local parents are
Forever
Complaining
They say
It’s all about the process
But really, is it?
When it’s so competitive
And when only results are taken as
Whole truths
- A place where art is shown
HEY!
Have you seen the magazine designs?
Illustrations, cartoons, photographs,
Texts, fonts,
Layouts, thoughts, concepts,
Create-ivity
- A place where art is made
A masterpiece itself,
A place where art is made with or without purpose.
Glass windows.
BAM – Dead birds
Scattered on the floor,
Natural installation?
- A photograph with a faculty
He studies
Rocks, tectonic movements
To understand and predict
They call him a seismologist.
Mr Wei Shen Qi from Earth Observatory of Singapore
- A photograph that shows that the Earth Observatory of Singapore may be about
To learn, to understand,
To predict, To prevent,
To spread the word, To educate.
