Meta Project: Architecture

These days I’m always hearing my classmates talking about moving on after graduation. What they want to do, or where they want to go. For me, I’m just lost. I mean, c’mon, we’re still first years, there’s still so much to explore and learn; so much information to gather and study.

But I guess everyone also wants to go “up there”, for the life. Everyone hopes to get off Earth, to the place where a good life is promised. Confused? Yep, there’s another place not on earth that people who have graduated with good grades and have achieved high class powers get to go to.

To give you a better picture, imagine in outer-space, there’s this huge ship, except that it’s not really a ship, it’s more of a circular space station that rotates on the spot. Its so big that it’s about a fifth of the Earth’s size. It’s near Earth though, about an hour and half hours space ship ride, of course depending on which launchpad you come from. Magical isn’t it, to have such a place. There’s still a catch though.

To put it into perspective, those without powers or have lesser powers are not able to get there. If you have powers like glowing in the dark, then you definitely won’t get up there. Even my elemental power may not get me up there.

The place is like a dream though, I’ve seen pictures and videos, heck even the movies we watch are made up there. They’ve made it such that that space station is exactly like earth, just a lot more posh. Their buildings are made of glass, everything seems so prim and proper, with meadows and lakes, and parks all over the place. Its a place where people go up to work and live, and most never come down. Unless you lost your power, but that’s highly unlikely.

So that brings us back to where I’m at now. Still on earth. Everywhere’s gotten a bit dirty all around. It’s not a dump, but it feels like no one’s taking care of this place at all. Its like no one’s bothered to clean up this place at all. Houses are still pretty much the same, high rise buildings are more prevalent but they’re a lot more run down. That’s why so many people want to go up there, for a better life.

Imagine how far we’ve come in terms of technology and social standings. From having wars in the past over each other’s abilities and knowledge, to segregating those who possess a greater power. Man kind has sure gotten quite elitist.

And yet I’m stuck here, unsure of my own future, still trying to survive school.
