This piece is inspired by one of Singaporeans’ favourite dessert – ice kachang! My mom would often buy this for my brother and I when we were younger, which resulted in two children fighting to eat more than the other. As a child, this colourful dessert never ceases to bring delight to me. Ice kachang remains as a go-to dessert for myself and I have really fond memories attached to it. Hence, I wanted to convey a sense of child-likeness by varying the sizes and orientation of the shapes and choosing a pastel colour scheme to go with these shapes.
