THERAPEUTIC ART
Calming
Joyful
Abstracted
Nature (back to your roots kind of feeling)
Colourful
Patterns
OBSERVATIONS
– slightly clinical (apt, but kinda sad)
– it’s a very busy/intense, people are usually wheeled past
– no one really takes notice, it’s like a mundane journey with information in the middle for the public to read
– Employee at the flower shop said that patients love to take photos with her flowers in her shop (indicates the need of colours to cheer patients up)
– Nurse mentioned that the whole corridor needs colour, the white is way too jarring
WORKING SPACE
– Very well-lit in the day, almost blinding kind of white due to the paint choice
– However, at night it’s really dark hence it appears like a flat, clinical and cold environment
IDEA DEVELOPMENT
RE: Ideas developed
I’d prefer to focus on the idea of a gentle rhythm bringing a sense of peace, based on idea of breathing exercises to calm anxiety sufferers down. Would probably utilise flowers / rhythm of dancers as reference.
