First (I was afraid, I was petrified)

 

Well, have you ever been tired and uninspired??? Because that was me for most of this project. Something about zika…. I just couldn’t really relate to it.

 

I went through loads and loads of idea changes

IT COULD BE YOU – the idea of blocking out people’s faces
I’m not sure why I couldn’t go on with it, it just felt weird because 1. I probably didn’t have the right subject matter 2. I probably have no idea how to use a camera properly yet (clearly, but im working on it).

 

I was then watching Ghostbusters (2016) again and something about their suits really inspired me. Hence came….

SUIT UP AGAINST ZIKA.

For this case, the graffiti-ish text did not go with the photo, neither did the colour of the typeface really.

In order to make it work I decided to draw/illustrate instead.

 

So yeah, hence this composition was born. Like the idea of the long pants / socks and squishing the mozzie with your leg. Wew. That took a while.

But for this case the mosquito is toooooo big (foreground/background differentiation is missing) so….
