yue ling, your line drawing has been excellent throughout – your feet and the way you solve fabric problems in our figure sessions is great. Â I feel that adding value still gives you some trouble as we can see in our last figure drawing session – great composition, good framing with linework, but still struggling to insert values clearly and descriptively. Â but your final project was a really good start towards working value into your drawing skills set.
Thank you for your guidance and the feedback, Jesse! I’ll practice being more meticulous when it comes to defining edges and certain changes from plane to plane more definitively. I think I currently lack control over the values because I’m afraid that if I make any bold lines that define an edge it might be too dark in terms of value but I’ll keep the advice of stay light longer in my head! 😀
